Mosaic Birthday Card!

Here is a birthday card using a cool technique- mosaic! For those of you coming to my class this thursday we will be making a card similar to this one (I changed it up a bit and used colors and different paper since the Sale-a-Bration paper is no longer available). This is a fun and easy technique and is a great way to use up paper scraps!

Here is a close-up so you can see how the paper is embossed between the "tiles" of paper.

stamps: essentials
ink: raspberry ripple
paper: raspberry ripple, pacific point, baja breeze, 2 sided sticky paper, sycamore street designer paper (SAB)
big shot: Vine street embossing folder (SAB)
other: button, bakers twine, oval punch, dimensional, silver embossing powder & heat gun.

Celebration card

I can't believe Sale-a-bration is almost over! Wow has this month flown by... don't forget you only have a few days left to spend $50 and get a free stamp set. I used one of the ones you can choose, Feeling Sentimental, on this card. I love the sketchbook feel that the Ferris Wheel drawing has. I made this card really simple, just the wheel and the word celebrate. Then I ran the cardstock through the big shot with the embossing folder just half way over it to emboss just the top.

stamps: Feeling Sentimental
ink:pacific point, crumb cake
paper: pacific point, crumb cake, very vanilla
big shot: lacy brocade embossing folder
other: crumb cake seam binding ribbon, adhesive pearls

St.Patricks Day Hearts

Remember the card I showed yesterday? When I cut out all those hearts I had these cute little squares leftover with hearts cut out of them... and since they were too cute to throw away I thought I'd use them to make a card.  I put them in a square over some white cardstock and then added a cute wooden button in the center.  Not quite a clover but still cute for St. Patricks day!

stamps: Teeny Tiny wishes
ink: chocolate chip
paper: whisper white, chocolate chip, crumb cake, old olive, Designer series paper stack
big shot: perfect polka dots embossing folder, hearts framelits
other: bakers twine, wooden button, oval and scalloped oval punch, 1" circle punch

Happy St Pattys Day!

St. Patty's day is just around the corner so I wanted to put together a quick card to celebrate! This card was made but cutting out a bunch of hearts using the hearts framelits dies and then folding them in half to make the petals of the clover. I love how cute this is... and you could even mail it since the clover petals easily fold down!

stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
ink: early espresso
paper: old olive, crumb cake, certainly celery, whisper white
big shot: heart and oval framelits
other: oval and small oval punch

Is it Spring Yet?

After spending some time driving in the snow and shoveling yesterday (yuk!), I thought sharing this card would be refreshing! It's so bright and pretty it reminds me that spring is coming soon... or at least I hope it is! I used the Stamp set Aviary to stamp the cute little owl and cage, and punched it out with the Giant circle punch! Then Added some more color pops with paper! I love how the crumb cake cardstock lets the bright colors pop out!

stamps: Aviary, Essentials
ink: Crumb Cake, early espresso, Melon Mambo
paper:  Melon Mambo, whisper white, So Saffron, Designer polka dot paper
big shot: polka dot embossing folder
other: word window punch, Melon Mambo ribbon, 2 1/2" Circle punch

One Sheet Wonder!

Thanks again to all the ladies that came to my class this week -- it was a super fun group!  We did a "One Sheet Wonder" This is a fun technique where you stamp a full sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper-- all over in a random fashion with a few different colors and then cut it up to make a set of coordinating cards with it!  We used the set Secret Garden and several of the InColors to make this set -- Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals.

If you are interested in seeing more posts using this technique I once made a set using the Nature Walk stamp set here. -- And even longer ago I made a set using the Fifth Avenue Floral set here.

Here is a shot of how cool the cards all look together:

We made a total of 8 cards and a tote. Here are pix of all the individual cards:
