Embossed Birthday Card

Here is a super simple embossed birthday card using the big shot. I used the Manhattan Flower textured impressions die to create the embossed flowers. This die is like a little plastic folder and you put your paper inside it so it presses from both sides and you get a really nice strong embossed image....plus, the flowers are just gorgeous! I made this one using pink pirouette card stock and accented it with a white scallop border punched with the scallop border punch. Then i put it on a regal rose card stock base. I used Kiwi kiss ribbon to give it a pop of color and stamped the happy birthday from the Think Happy Thoughts stamp set and punched it out with the circle punch. This card turned out very simple and elegant!

Big Shot Matchboxes!

I am so in love with these little boxes! Aren't they super cute. They're really easy and fun to make using the matchbox XL die and the Big Shot. I am loving my new big shot! To make these boxes I used the Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series paper from Stampin Up! These would be great party favors, just fill with candy and add a tag or ribbon!!

Upsy Daisy!

Hope you're having a great memorial day weekend! I'm sharing a really fun effect with you today. This card looks really elegant and professional and was really easy to make. All you do is find a piece of Designer paper with a small pattern on it (In the sample I used Urban Garden). Then I stamped the bold image of flowers from the Upsy Daisy Stamp Set onto the paper using Versamark ink. Quickly, before the ink drys, you dump white embossing powder over the image. Shake off the excess (I use an embossing tray to keep mine nice and neat) and then heat with an embossing gun. Then....ta dah! The white embossing makes this image really pop off the Designer paper and looks really cool!

stamps:Uspy Daisy
ink:Versamark, chocolate chip
paper:So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Urban Garden Designer Paper, Whisper White
other: embossing tray, white embossing powder, embossing gun, chocolate chip grosgrain, Scallop border punch

My new toy!!

I finally broke down and bought myself a new toy!!! I'm so excited to show you all the cool stuff you can do with this! Of course I bought myself several fun new dies and texture plates to use with it too so expect to be seeing some cool stuff showing up on my blog and in my classes soon!!

Great Friend Card

Hello! I know I haven't been blogging much lately. There's been so much going on that I haven't had time to keep on top of it! I've been busy with visiting family and friends lately and planning my upcoming projects and classes....so stay tuned. There's going to be some fun projects and classes coming up!

Here is a great card using all kind of fun stuff from the current mini catalog! If you don't have this mini catalog yet, you can download it here or contact me to get a free copy.

The Card used Baja Breeze card stock with two butterflies from the Great Friend set stamped on it. Then there's a strip of the Walk in the Park Designer Paper and the new 5/8" White Satin ribbon. (this stuff is beautiful!). The edge is punched with the Eyelet Border punch. The other cool accessory on this card is the jumbo grommet. These are really cool. They're easy to attach to a card and look so neat. Then I put a courdory brad in the center. What a cool looking accent! The Sentiment says "You a friend who makes good times great" and is also from the Great friend set. It is stamped and punched out with the square punch and then accented with a scallop square behind it!

stamps:great friend
ink: Baja Breeze
paper:Baja Breeze, Walk in the Park Designer paper,
other: jumbo grommet, courdoury button, whisper white Satin ribbon, eyelet edge punch, square punch and square scallop punch

My bathroom...

I did this awhile ago but I just finally got around to taking a photo. This is the long-stem silhouette in large from the decor elements brochure. (If you don't have a copy you can download it here.) I had the towels with the dragonflies on since we moved in and I thought that this would accent them perfectly! I love how this turned out. It really adds to the room. I'm trying to decide which other items I could add to other rooms in my house :)

Mother's Day Garden Gift

Here is what I made for mothers day. I wanted to make something Garden themed and so I went and purchased some garden bulbs, garden gloves and a citronella candle and used them as color inspiration for this project.

I found this box pattern online and loved it. It's meant for cards but I used mine to hold the bulbs and a set of magnets that I also made.
I also stuck in some instant lemonade drink packets that you put in your water bottle. The box is held closed with velcro.

For stamps, I used the Eastern Blooms stamp set. I like the large bloom stamp for the front of the box. It is stamped on pink passion paper (that's what the box is made of) and then for the lid, I stamped it in pink passion and pink pirouette and added some dimensionals and a button to accent the center flower. The green card stock is gable green.

Here is a close up of the magnet set. These magnets are actually pebbles that you find in the floral section of the craft store and they're clear. Then I stamped the images and adhered them to the pebbles and hot-glued a thick magnet on the back (the thin ones don't hold them since they're so heavy). Then I stamped a header using the eastern blooms flowers. I love how this turned out!

stamps:eastern blooms
ink:green galore, pumpkin pie, pink passion, pink pirouette
paper:pink passion, whisper white, gable green
other: glass pebbles, magnets, hot glue, cello bag, dimensionals, button, velcro, ribbon from dollar spot, scallop border punch, green binder clip
