Sweet Chick card!
My parents have some chickens that they raise and they just got some new baby chicks last week! So I thought it would be fun to make this cute chick into a card to send my mom. I used the square lattice embossing folder again on this card... I am really loving the texture it creates, it's so versatile it goes with everything. I also sponged the edges of it with soft suede ink to make it look more distressed. The images are both from the hostess set Country Morning, which will be retiring at the end of this month! I stamped them both with black ink on very vanilla card stock. Then I colored them with the watercolor pencils and the aquapainter. I had a lot of fun coloring these... I haven't done as much coloring lately since most of my favorite stamps are bold images!
Then I distressed the edges with the sponge again and the soft suede ink. The sentiment "happiness" is from the set Warm Words, also retiring (so sad, I love this set).
stamps: Country Morning, Warm words
ink: whisper white, soft suede, basic black, watercolor pencils
paper:soft suede, very vanilla, crushed curry, not quite navy
other: scallop oval punch, oval punch, sponges, square lattice embossing folder, hemp twine, aquapainter, eyelet border punch
