Boatloads of Love!

Here's a card I made for valentines using the Boatloads of Love set from Stampin' Up! I used aqua painters to color the boat with various colors of blue.

I covered the heart with glue using a glue pen and added flower soft that I recently bought. You can order it from all that scraps here. I used soft pink for this card. Here's a close-up photo so you can see this stuff. It's really cool. It looks like terry cloth or a soft blanket. I love how it looks on the heart.

After getting it this far, I decided the boat was too blue and since I didn't want to re-do the whole card, I added some big eyelets where the boat life preservers are to add color. Then I matted the boat with pacific point cardstock and layered it over a piece of pretty in pink that I had run through the cuttlebug to emboss dots on. The card base is baja breeze blue cardstock.

For finishing touches I added some taffeta ribbon and the sentiment across the bottom which is from the set Heard from the Heart from SU.

Another Owlie...

This card is very similar to the one I showed you yesterday! I loved the colors and ribbon so I used the same ones on this card. the main difference is that I decided to make it a thank-you card instead of a valentine. The base of the card is real red and the piece of close to cocoa is embossed using the cuttlebug. I stamped the owl and colored it with shades of brown markers. Then I matted it with Chocolate chip cardstock and put it on pretty in pink cardstock. I added the same ribbon and the sentiment "grateful" from a retired Stampin' Up set. Then I used two glue dots to add on the red buttons. I'm really liking buttons lately, now that I realized how easy they are to attach using glue dots.

Love owl-ways

Here is a sweet little valentine card. I thought this owl holding the heart from Stampin' up was absolutely adorable! On this card I started with a pretty in pink card base and rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch. The red piece was sent through the cuttlebug to create the dot embossed pattern. Then I stamped the owl and colored him with shades of brown. The heart ribbon is from American Crafts and the flower is from Prima. I like how this turned out. It's simple and cute and the colors are perfect for Valentines!

New Catalog is Out!!

The new Spring/Summer 2009 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog has arrived!! Contact me today to get your copy. Pink Cat Birthday!

What a sweet Birthday Kitty! This kitty image from Pink Cat Studio is so cute and can be used for Christmas and birthday cards! To make this card, I stamped the kitty in Basic Black and colored her using inks and an aquapainter. Then I punched her out with a big circle punch and framed her with the big scallop circle punched out of certainly celery. The hearts next to her head are epoxy hearts from Heidi Grace Designs. Then I used two different pink cardstocks on the card (pretty in pink and regal rose). The sentiment Birthday wishes is from the set Sincere Salutations from Stampin' Up! Hope you like it. I think she's adorable!

Color Inspiration Challenge #38

Here is my card for the color challenge by Kristina Werner. I thought the colors would be a perfect way to use the love owl-ways set to make a valentine. I think this is such a cute little set. It's perfect for valentines or just a special someone!

Here is the challenge she posted:
I used the ruby red for the card base and the pumpkin pie layered on top of that with rounded corners. I tried to make this a cute simple card, just right for a quick valentine!

The little orange heart is an epoxy heart from Heidi Grace Designs. All other materials are from Stampin' Up!

owl thank you!

Can you tell I've got a bunch of thank-yous to get out? This was such a crazy holiday I'm a little behind on getting back into the swing of things. I bought a few stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps with some of my Christmas money and this one is so cute! It comes with two owls and a set of wings so you can put his wings out if you want to. I stamped the larger owl on the branch and then made the little one pop out so it looks like he's hugging it.

You can see how cute this set is, right? I can't wait to try more cards with it. It has the cutest sayings too. For this one I used "thanks for owl you do" so I can use it as a thank-you card.

The cardstock is all from Stampin' Up! and the flowers stamped on the yellow layer are from the eastern blooms set from Stampin' Up. I also used a border punch and some green button brads. I love these little button brads. They're so cute on almost anything!
