Wishes card...

Here is another card using the Good Friend set that I used yesterday but this time, no bird! I know..., I love the bird but the reason I wanted this set is because I could see it being used in this way as well, making a fun pattern using just the flowers. I love it when a set has pieces in it that make it versatile like that!

I wanted this set to have a soft spring feel and I love how that one flower looks like it could be a dandelion, blowing in the wind. I used only two stamps from that set with two shades of purple and certainly celery to create a soft look. Then I used the wishes stamp from the Heard from the Heart set to complete the feel. I love how simple this card was to make and how soft and pretty it turned out. Can you believe it's the same stamp set as that bright fun card from yesterday? I love how versatile it is!

stamps:Good Friend, Heard from the Heart
ink: Certainly Celery, Almost amethyst, Lavender Lace, Chocolate Chip
paper:Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Whisper white

Big bird card!

So, even though I live in Wisconsin and it actually SNOWED this last weekend (boo), I'm being optimistic and ready for spring. Nothing says spring to me like flowers and singing birds and this card has both. I used the large bird from the Good Friend set, (which coordinates with the Cheep Talk set I showed yesterday). I love this bird but he's a little bigger than I realized! He takes up almost the whole card so he was a little challenging to work with, but I love how this turned out. I stamped and cut out the bird and his legs and used dimensionals to attach him to this card. For the background I used a flower from this set and stamped it in baja breeze and kiwi kiss inks, leaving a spot for my sentiment. I stamped the sentiment, "a special note of thanks" from the cheep talk set to finish it off. It makes a great springy thank-you card!

ink:Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, black

Little bird card!

Hello there! Sorry I've been away from my blog for awhile. Life has been busy... but I've got some really cute new stuff to show you!

This is one of my favorite new sets from this catalog. I just love these little birdies and how cute they are on the branch. I love using these images with bright bold colors! For this card I used pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise, taken with teal and white card stock. The stamp set is called Cheep Talk and I can see it having so many uses! I used the "you've got a friend in me" sentiment on this one but it also has a "hello" and a "special note of thanks" which makes it really versatile. Plus you can decorate the branch in different ways too. I used the mini flower on this one but the set also includes a larger flower (which I used on the teal strip running across the card), heart and pear. You'll see some more cards using this set soon! I also popped up the one bird with a dimensional and added some pink ribbon. What a perfect spring card to send a friend!!

stamps: Cheep Talk
ink:Tempting turquoise, certainly celery, regal rose, pumpkin pie
paper: Pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise, whisper white, taken with teal
other: scallop border punch, rose grosgrain ribbon, dimensional

Boatloads of Love!

Here's a card I made for valentines using the Boatloads of Love set from Stampin' Up! I used aqua painters to color the boat with various colors of blue.

I covered the heart with glue using a glue pen and added flower soft that I recently bought. You can order it from all that scraps here. I used soft pink for this card. Here's a close-up photo so you can see this stuff. It's really cool. It looks like terry cloth or a soft blanket. I love how it looks on the heart.

After getting it this far, I decided the boat was too blue and since I didn't want to re-do the whole card, I added some big eyelets where the boat life preservers are to add color. Then I matted the boat with pacific point cardstock and layered it over a piece of pretty in pink that I had run through the cuttlebug to emboss dots on. The card base is baja breeze blue cardstock.

For finishing touches I added some taffeta ribbon and the sentiment across the bottom which is from the set Heard from the Heart from SU.

stamps: Boatloads of Love, Heard from the Heart
ink:basic black, Pacific point
paper: whisper white, pacific point, baja breeze, pretty in pink
other: big eyelets, cuttlebug, flower soft, aquapainters, taffeta ribbon

Another Owlie...

This card is very similar to the one I showed you yesterday! I loved the colors and ribbon so I used the same ones on this card. the main difference is that I decided to make it a thank-you card instead of a valentine. The base of the card is real red and the piece of close to cocoa is embossed using the cuttlebug. I stamped the owl and colored it with shades of brown markers. Then I matted it with Chocolate chip cardstock and put it on pretty in pink cardstock. I added the same ribbon and the sentiment "grateful" from a retired Stampin' Up set. Then I used two glue dots to add on the red buttons. I'm really liking buttons lately, now that I realized how easy they are to attach using glue dots.

stamps:Love Owl-ways
paper: pretty in pink, real red, chocolate chip, whisper white, close to cocoa
ink:black, various browns to color
other:ribbon (american crafts), cuttle bug, buttons, glue dots

Love owl-ways

Here is a sweet little valentine card. I thought this owl holding the heart from Stampin' up was absolutely adorable! On this card I started with a pretty in pink card base and rounded the corners with a corner rounder punch. The red piece was sent through the cuttlebug to create the dot embossed pattern. Then I stamped the owl and colored him with shades of brown. The heart ribbon is from American Crafts and the flower is from Prima. I like how this turned out. It's simple and cute and the colors are perfect for Valentines!

stamps:Love Owl-ways
paper: pretty in pink, real red, creamy caramel, chocolate chip, whisper white
