Halloween Treat Wrapper

I love this new Candy Wrapper Die for the big shot! Isn't it cool? I made this one out of pumpkin pie card stock, then tied black taffeta ribbon on the sides. The bat I stamped with Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder on black card stock and punched out with the Large Oval punch. He's from the set From the Crypt. Spooky Skull Card

Here is another one of my Halloween card creations. I love the effect of embossing a solid image on a patterned paper background so I did that again here. The paper is a subtle black print from the Cast-A-Spell Designer paper pack and I embossed a white skull image from the stamp set From the Crypt. I mounted this on a piece of black. For the rest of the card I wanted to do a little bit different color scheme so this time I used purple (elegant eggplant) for the card base. I cut out a shape with the Top Note big shot die and then cut it in half and just used half of it. This creates a really neat shape. To finish I used some more paper from the Cast-A-Spell pack and some black grosgrain ribbon. The sentiment "spooky" is from the set Halloween Frights.

Faux Metal Spider!

Here is a cool card I made for Halloween using the Faux Metal technique to create the spider. I used a small square and covered it with Versamark ink and then covered it with silver embossing powder and heated. Once the first layer of powder is melted and smooth you need to add more while it's still warm and heat again. I think I had to do this about 3 times to get it thick enough. Then while it's still warm, you quickly press your stamp into it it and it makes an impression in the silver. I used the spider from the From the Crypt stamp set. Doesn't it look just like metal? Here's a close-up:


Then I mounted it on a scalloped square and punched a hole through it to make it into a tag! Isn't that the coolest? I love how it turned out!! Then of course, I finished my card using some Cast-a-spell designer paper and my favorite top note big shot die!!

Halloween Coffin...

I was searching around a bit for halloween treats and found a couple of different versions of a gravestone or coffin. I didn't quite like any of them for what I wanted so after a few trys I made my own pattern. I wanted to make one that fit a gummy skeleton inside so it really seemed like a grave. Here's what I ended up with and I love how it turned out. I used half a sheet of cardstock cut the long way and made it into a Coffin shape. Here is the side veiw.


Once I had the shape I liked, I made another front that was smaller and cut it out of patterened paper. I used Cast-A-Spell paper. I love how some of it is monochromatic black with a black pattern on it that you can just barely see. Then I embossed the skeleton image from the set From the Crypt on it with white embossing powder. The sentiment is from the hostess set Holiday Best. Here is a view of it open. Isn't that gummy guy gross?? I love it!!

Witches broomstick

This is one of the projects we're making in my Halloween Class next week. If you live near me and haven't signed up yet, make sure to let me know if you'd like to attend and learn how to make it, along with some other fun treats!

I loved the idea of a witches broomstick and this one is made from a paper sack. Open it up and inside there is candy, of course, but you could probably put a small gift or toy as an alternative option. The spider on the tag is from the From the Crypt stamp set.
