halloween kitty card...

Here is a fun simple card I made using the Haunting Halloween set. I started with a piece of river rock card stock for the base. Then I used a piece of patterned paper I got in a little 8x8 fall paper stack at Archivers (got this for free when I spent too much there a couple weeks ago purchasing my bind-it-all!). I stamped the witchy cat on some white card stock and colored it in with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I like how the coloring turned out on this one. Sometimes coloring is my favorite part...takes me back to being a kid when I loved coloring books! I used some purple and black card stock to mat the cat image and used the slit punch to make the black parts that pop over the top. Then I just added a little ribbon, the "witching you" sentiment and....done!

stamps: Haunting Halloween
ink: basic black, watercolor pencils
paper: river rock, whisper white, lovely lilac, basic black
other: patterned paper, pumpkin grosgrain ribbon, polka-dotted ribbon

Witching you...

Another card with the Haunting Halloween Set. This set is so much fun to color! For this card I cut the paper the long way (at 4.25 on the 8.5" side) and folded it to make a card that opens the other direction. This is a fun way to vary a card layout.

The card base is wild wasabi and the other green is mellow moss. I stamped the stars on the mellow moss and then accented it by adding more dots with a white gel pen. For the main image I stamped the image on whisper white and colored in with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. Then I framed it with a piece of black card stock and assembled it, adding ribbons. The "witching you" is stamped on a piece of river rock and then I used the corner rounder to make the rounded corners.

Then after the card was finished I added green stickles glittle glue on the frog and the bubbles. here is a close up:

paper: whisper white, basic black, wild wasabi, mellow moss
other: polka dot ribbon, green stickles, white gel pen

Witching you...

...A Haunting Halloween....
This is one of the sets that you can get for 30% off this month with a $30 purchase so of course I had to have it. Priced at only $13.27, how could I resist? If you'd like to know more about the specials, contact me!

I decided that since I hardly ever use purple, this would be a great time to try it. I think purple goes great with Halloween and is a nice break from all the orange and black. I started out with a piece of orchid opulence paper for the card base. The strip of yellow is more mustard stamped with the star stamp from the Haunting Halloween set with more mustard ink and then I went around and added more dots with a white gel pen. For the main image of the card I stamped the cauldron and stars from the same set and then colored them using watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I then mounted the image on wild wasabi card stock and added the ribbons (white and black grosgrain) and attached it to the card. The sentiment "witching you.." is also from this set. Inside the card I stamped the "...a haunting Halloween" sentiment.

Here is another card I did with this set using basically the same formula but with the cat instead of the cauldron and no green:
stamps: Haunting Halloween
ink: Basic Black, More mustard
paper: orchid opulence, more mustard, basic black, whisper white, wild wasabi
other: gingham ribbon, white grosgrain ribbon, dotted ribbon (not SU), watercolor pencils and blender pen
