Soft Suede...

I recently went to an event where we did a couple of monochromatic cards using Soft Suede...They are just gorgeous. I liked this color before but now I'm really loving it! The first card uses Soft Suede cardstock stamped with the Medallion Background Stamp. Isn't that a Gorgeous stamp? I love how it looks. Then it's simply made complete by stamping a sentiment from the Define your Life stamp set. Then add some ribbon along the bottom with a jumbo grommet to add some elegance. The ribbon is actually the polka-dotted Soft Suede ribbon but it is turned around so you don't see the polka-dot side!

The next card is also almost all Soft Suede. Again, start with Soft Suede Cardstock and this time I punched circles of varying sizes out of a peice Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper. Adhere the circles in a random pattern onto the card base. Then I used the medallion stamp from the True Friend stamp set to creat the image. I sponged the edges with some Suede ink and added some of the polka-dot Soft Suede grosgrain ribbon. The Birthday wishes sentiment is from the Sincere Salutations stamp set.

Thank U card

Hello! I'm almost finished with my calendar so I should have that to show soon.

Meanwhile, here is a thank-you card I made with one of my Favorite sets from Stampin' Up, True Friend. I just love the flowers in this set. They're so fun to stamp!

For the card base I used really rust. The flower is colored with markers from Earth Elements and then stamped on white. It's framed with Wild Wasabi and the retired Apple Cider paper (so sad this paper is gone, I just love it!). I colored the "thank U" stamp with markers, pumpkin pie and chocolate chip, and stamped it on white. I punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and then framed it with the close to cocoa scallop. I used white gel pen to add dots to the scallop. The ribbon is the double-stitched ribbon from SU in river rock.

You can't see it really well in the photo, but I did add a fun little patterned brad in the center from Bo Bunny.

Wow! It's October!

When did that happen? I can't believe how fast it became fall! I haven't had much time to stamp over the past few days since I was out of town visiting family for the weekend and now I'm playing catch-up with stuff around the house. But Here is a card I haven't shown you that that I made a little bit ago. It uses the True Friend stamp set from the holiday mini catalog.
I started wit a piece of River Rock card stock (I didn't really like this color at first but it's really growing on me...) I stamped the flower on the background with river rock ink. Then I used a piece of the coordinating designer paper to frame my main image. The main image was simply colored with chocolate chip and close to cocoa markers and stamped on whisper white paper. I framed it with a piece of chocolate chip cardstock and tied a piece of white grosgrain around it. Then to finish off the card, I stamped the "thank u" in chocolate chip. It's simple and easy but I love how it turned out.

What I've been up to...

It's my Grandpas 80th birthday this week and last weekend they had a big party for him with all his family to celebrate. I wanted to stamp him something useful and after much deliberating I finally decided to make him an album to put all his photos from his party in. I don't know why it took me so long to think of this! I just bought a simple 8x8 album at Archivers and made pages with photo corners already in place so once he has the photos from his party, he can just slide them in!

Here's some photos of the inside pages. I used the Apple Cider Designer paper (love this stuff) with coordinating cardstock and stamps. I also used some chipboard shapes and the cuttlebug to create some accents:
