Pixie stix treats!

Halloween treats are so fun to make! This little pumpkin pixie stix holder is cute and easy. I started by cutting a piece of paper 3" x 11". Then fold it in half and fold down the top about 2 inches. I used the corner rounder on the corner and then stamped a pattern over it using the the circles from polka dots and petals. I stamped the pumpkin from Carved & Candlelit and layered it with black. Then I punched holes with the tiny hand held hole punch through all the layers and used brads to attach it all together. Now you should have a little pocket just big enough for some pixie stix or some Halloween pencils!

No Spiders for Halloween...

Ok, I know I've said I love Halloween--and I do--but I have to say as cute as some of the Halloween sets with spiders are on them, I hate real spiders. They give me the creeps. I was just entering my stamp room tonight to do some stamping and I see my cat, Newton, on the floor batting something around....you guessed it a spider! I huge spider! I was so totally freaked out. The only thing worse than finding a spider is killing it. I don't know why I'm so afraid of them but this one was big and brown and I was too scared of it to squish it so I carefully captured it with a piece of paper under a piece of tupperware and ran it outside and flung it far away from me into the yard... ewwwww! I still have the shivers just thinking about it!

At least this card doesn't have a spider on it! This card uses the Batty for You stamp set and the polka dots and petals stamp set. I started with a pumpkin pie card base. Next I stamped a strip of white with polka dots and circles in black, pumpkin pie and river rock. I framed this strip with a piece of basic black that I scalloped using the slit punch. The ribbons tied around are pumpkin grosgrain and black gingham. Then I stamped the Frankenstein and the vampire from Batty for you on white and punched them out with circle punches. I framed them with scallop circles punched from river rock card stock ad attached them with dimensionals. I can't seem to make a card without dimensionals lately!

Happy Halloween!

Since it's September now I've been starting to think about fall and my favorite part of fall is Halloween! I know it's early for some but I couldn't resist using my new Halloween set! For this card I made the base with pumpkin pie paper, then made black scallops with the slit punch. the middle is done with the Polka Dots and Petals set...I love just using the circles and dots from this set, they're so versatile. I then stamped the images from the Batty for You set on white and punched them out with the 1 and 1/4" circle punch and framed them with scallop punch. I thought it turned out so cute!

Card Tin

Here is a card tin I made using the Petals and Paisleys Designer paper from the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini catalog. I love making these card tins, they're super cute and help keep me organized. They also make great gifts. I've seen variations on it including a recipe tin, photo organizer, storage for cuttlebug dies...etc. Use your imagination!

To make this tin I used mainly the designer paper to cover the tin (I used my Xyron to adhere it to the tin). Then I used the Letterpress Alphabet to make the "CARDS" title and layered it with Stampin' Up! Cardstock and ribbons.

The inside has divider cards made using cardstock and the Round Tab punch. I used Everyday Flexible Phrases to stamp the words on the tabs and attached the tabs to the dividers with staples. Then I stamped on the dividers using Polka Dots and Petals and Polka Dots and Paisleys stamp sets. In the lid, I again used the designer paper and made a shorter piece to serve as a pocket for stamps!

Easter Treats...

Hope you had a great easter! I wanted to share this litte treat box I made for my sis for easter. It contains candy and some fun flowers and embellishments for scrapbooking! She loved it... mostly because there was chocolate inside!!

Welcome Baby!

I just made some baby boycards the other night. I needed one for a co-worker and ended up making two similar designs just for fun. Both cards use litte animals cut out using my cuttlebug and a giant scallop circle punched out using my awesome marvy scallop punches. For stamps I stamped a background using the circles and dots stamps from the Polka Dots and Petals stamp set, and words from Everyday Flexible Phrases and Warm words.
