a little birdie told me...

The new catalog from Stampin Up! is just days away, and guess what? My box of catalogs came just arrived! I'm so excited about all the new stuff. There are a couple of must-have stamps and some cool accessories. I can't wait to make out my wish list!

Meanwhile, Here's a little bird card for you. I used Kiwi Kiss for the card base and lovely lilac for the middle. I hardly ever use that color but I love how this turned out. It looks so springy! I also used my border punch (of course), ribbon, and a dimensional to pop the little birdie off the card.

stamps: a little birdie
ink: pastel markers, basic black
paper: whisper white, bashful blue, lovely lilac, so saffron
other: white grosgrain ribbon, scallop punch, tab punch, small circle punch, cuttlebug, button brad

You're the Best Bird

Since it's cold, snowy and blowy again today I thought I'd share a springy card.

I made this card using pieces from my scrap pile. I haven't made anything using brilliant blue card stock in forever but I just love how it turned out! I love the how the bold colors work with this stamp set. The stamp set I used is Spring Solitude, which is a new level 2 hostess set.

For the base of the card, I stamped the outlined flower image with brilliant blue ink. To create the main image, I used old olive and chocolate chip markers to ink and stamp the branches.

The "you're the best" sentiment is from the A little Birdie Told Me set.

stamps: Spring Solitude, A little Birdie Told Me
ink: Brilliant blue ink pad, old olive and chocolate chip markers
paper: whisper white, brilliant blue, chocolate chip, creamy caramel
other: white taffeta ribbon

A little Birdie told me...

That it's finally Friday! Whew! I don't know about you, but this has been a long week for me. It's been hard to go out in the cold everyday this week. I'm so ready for some warm, sunny days...wishful thinking, I know.

Today I'm showing a card that I'm doing as a make-and-take for my open house on Sunday. I used the set A Little Birdie to make both of the cards in this post. What's fun about these cards is that I used exactly the same materials, cut to the same sizes to make both cards! It's fun to see how you can make two totally different looks using the same materials. Plus, this set is so versatile. It comes with all these fun sentiments so it can be used for tons of different occasions!

I also love the new designer series paper Ginger Blossoms, that I used on both of these samples. The colors are so pretty, perfect for spring or valentines!

stamps: A Little Birdie
inks: Basic Black ink pad, always apricot and regal rose markers
papers: Whisper White, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, and Ginger Blossoms Designer paper
other: pink Taffeta ribbon, oval punch, dimensionals
