Anti-Bacterial Holders

Here are some cute little anti-bacterial holders I made! I made these for the craft fair so I was using up some of my holiday paper leftovers from previous catalogs. This cute paper is from last year but I still love it! Then I used the snowflake from serene snowflakes and the little message Merry is from the Tiny Tags set.

This one uses the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Teeny Tiny wishes set punched out with the word window and the Modern Label punch.

Here's what they look like open. I stamped on the insides and added some patternered paper across the bottom. They close with a little piece of velcro.

Tealight Snowflake Candle Holder!

Here is another project you will be able to make if you sign up for my Holiday Gift Class! RSVPs are due by the end of the Day on Monday, Nov 21, so make sure to contact me if you'd like to attend! This snowflake holder is cut out of thin metal using the Big shot! How cool is that? I also embossed it to add the dots! You will also get to learn how to stamp the tea light candle. This is easier than you think and adds a lot of fun to the gift. The design does stay as you burn the candle, it sinks down. I tested one to make sure it would burn ok!

Bleached Snowflakes

Can you tell I was having fun playing with the Bleach Technique? Here are a couple more holiday cards using it. I love how it looks different on different colors of card stock. For this card I stamped the snowflakes fro the Serene Snowflakes stamp set with bleach on Night of Navy Card stock. The show up almost a crumb cake color! How cool is that?

To make the rest of the card I used a crumb cake card base and attached some snowflakes cut out with the big shot (Northern Frost Decorative Strip die) and added them onto the card. I also added on a bitty clear button for some added detail. Along the bottom of the image is a strip of bashful blue paper punched out using the Lace Ribbon Border punch. The Sentiment is from the set Sincere Salutations and was punched out with the large oval punch.




Here's another variation using another piece of the Night of Navy Card stock with bleached snowflakes. This time I used a white card stock base and layered a piece of soft suede card stock embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder over it. This made a perfect frame for my snowflake piece. I added on some ribbon and the sentiment from the Many Merry Wishes stamp set. and all done! A beautiful simple card.

2 ways to use shimmer paint!

I really LOVE shimmer paint! For this card, I used shimmer paint in two different ways. I started with an embossed piece of white card stock (I used the Northern Flurry embossing folder to emboss the snowflakes). The first way was to use champagne shimmer paint on a sponge and apply it right to the snowflakes--since they're embossed, it's easy to apply just to the raised portion and not the whole card. Then I applied the silver shimmer paint directly to the snowflake stamp with a sponge and used it to stamp onto the not quite navy card stock, just like you would with an inked stamp. It looks so pretty! Then I punched out the snowflake with the ornament punch and added it to the card with a dimensional. I added some ribbon tied right above it so it appears as if it's hanging on the ribbon!

Holiday Greetings!

Hello again! I'm finally able to find a few minutes to update my blog. I spent the past two days at the Stoughton Victorian Holiday fair and the past few weeks getting ready for it. I will show you photos of what I made soon (haven't downloaded them yet). The fair was a lot of fun but was taking up all of my time... so hopefully now things won't be so crazy - although with Christmas only a few weeks away, they probably will be!

Here's a card I made using the Serene snowflakes stamp set. I stamped it onto crumb cake card stock using whisper white, cherry cobbler and early espresso inks. The cool snowflakes are punched out using the Northern Frost decorative strip die for the big shot. Then I put a red glimmer brad in the center of one for some added sparkle! The "holiday greetings" sentiment is from the set Sincere Salutations.

One-layer Christmas Card

Wow. We had a ton of snow this week. It took my husband and I around 4 hours to clean out our driveway and sidewalk. I think it was around 18 inches of heavy wet snow, more where the plow pushed it in at the ends!

Here's a super easy Christmas Card for those of you making last-minute cards. It only uses one layer of card stock! I used whisper white card stock for mine. I cut a piece of paper using the top note die using a scrap paper (doesn't matter what color) and used it as a stencil. Hold it down onto the white card stock and sponge along the edges with blue to create that cool shape. Then leave your template there and stamp some snowflakes on top using the Serene Snowflakes set. I Left room on the bottom for my sentiment "Merry Christmas" from the Many Merry Messages stamp set.

This card is quick and easy but looks fantastic!

It's snowing!

Since it's snowing today I thought I'd upload some snowflake cards! This is a card I made for a workshop I had last month but haven't had a chance to post yet. I used night of navy card stock for the base and the Platinum shimmer paint to get the shimmery effect on the card stock. To get this fun sparkly/splattery effect, I mixed a bit of the platinum shimmer paint in a mini spray bottle with some rubbing alcohol. I didn't use any special ratio, just added it and tested on a strip of paper until it looked sparkly enough! Then I sprayed it on the night of navy paper and let dry for a few minutes before making my card. I think it looks really pretty on the dark paper. Then I stamped the large snowflake from Serene Snowflakes using a sponge to apply the paint directly to the Stamp. I framed the image with a piece of Brushed Silver Cardstock. Then I stamped "sparkle" from the stamp set Warm Words using the same method of sponging the paint directly onto the stamp and then stamping it. Then I finished it off with some silver cord! Love all the sparkles on this.

Here's another card I made using the platinum shimmer paint. This time I used Brocade blue cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot using the Movers & Shapers Die to create the window. Then I stamped Snowflakes around the front using the Serene Snowflakes stamp set again. The Sentiment "Seasons Greetings" is from the Many Merry Messages stamp set. To add shimmer paint, i just used a sponge to smear it along th edeges. It looks really pretty in person! Then I put a piece of white cardstock on the inside and stamped a small snowflake on it. Serene Snowflakes

I'm not ready for real snow yet but I am having lots of fun with this set. Here is super pretty and simple card made with the Serene Snowflakes set. I love this color combo of Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede. Doesn't it just look soft and pretty? I Used the biggest snowflake from the set to create the main focal image and then used some of the smaller ones on a piece of soft suede cardstock to create a pattern for the left side. The sentiment "Happy Holidays" is from the set Many Merry Messages.

Snowflake Card!

Hello! Sorry I haven't posted in a bit...I've been transitioning from Halloween stuff into Christmas stuff so I'm little bit behind on posting! I just had a Holiday Stamp - a-Stack last week so that was keeping me busy...but I do have a bunch of fun stuff to start sharing so stay tuned. Here is a fun and super simple Holiday card. I used the Serene Snowflakes stamp set with Real Red and Old Olive (Love that color combo for christmas) to stamp the snowflakes. Then I framed it with a piece of Old Olive that I used the Scallop border punch on. Then Simply add a Sentiment on the bottom (mine is from the set Many Merry Messages). Easy and so pretty. Here is another verison of the same card--just using different colors:

I used Soft Suede and Bashful blue for this version. Isn't it cool how different you can make a card look just by changing the colors?
