Grease Lightning!

I made this card for my little 'sis since she was in a production of "Grease" last weekend! I thought I'd try to make it look like poodle skirt.

The skirt is made from a half circle shape cut from patterned paper (retired SU paper). I folded pleats into the paper, to make it look like a pleated skirt. Then I cut a shape to make the dress top and punched out a circle to create the neckline. Then I added the plaid gingham ribbon around the waist.

For the Record, I just punched a circle (1 3/8") out of black and then another (1") out of grey. I then added some lines with a white gel pen!

The background is dots stamped from the Circle Circus stamp set.

stamps: Circle circus
ink:going gray, basic black
paper: pretty in pink, basic black, going gray, whisper white
other: 1 3/8" inch punch, 1" circle punch, oval punch, pink grosgrain

Butterflies in New Colors

Here is a card that I designed to make at last nights workshop. I wanted to use some of the new InColors along with the Great Friend stamp set. I chose Crushed Curry as the base color to make it look really summery and then I used Melon Mambo to really brighten it up. I also used a little soft suede for the branches and the sentiment on the bottom. This color works great as a neutral, I think I'll be using it a lot! Then, of course, I used the scallop punch and a dimensional to pop off the one butterfly. I think having something pop off add so much fun to a card!

stamps: Great Friend
ink:Melon Mambo, Crushed curry, Soft Suede
paper:Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
other:dimensionals, scallop border punch

Orange cream!

Here's another card I made using the Tart and Tangy set and some punches.

To make the ice cream cone, I punched a square using the 1 3/8 " Square punch and then used a scissors to cut off the two sides to make it look like a cone. For the scoops of ice cream I used the scallop circle punch and punched a scallop out of crushed curry and one out of only orange and then used a scissor to cut off one side. I stacked them together to make it look like ice cream and used a gel pen to add stitches on the cone.

For the card I used only orange cardstock as the base. then I used a piece of crushed curry cardstock and stamped the orange image from Tart and Tangy on it with only orange and crushed curry inks. I added a scalloped border with the scallop border punch since I can't seem to make a card without it! The "for you" sentiment is from the great friend stamp set.

Want some ice cream now? Or maybe some orange sherbert.....

stamps:Tart and Tangy, Great Friend
ink:Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Only Orange
paper:Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Only Orange, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip
other: Dimensionals, Square punch, Scallop Circle punch, Scallop Border punch, scissors, white gel pen

Cherry pop!

Hello there!
I wanted to say thank-you to those of you who attended my punch class this week! I hope you enjoyed learning a ton a cool shapes you can make with punches.

On this card I used one of the cool punched icons we made that night, the Popsicle. The popscicle shape is really easy to make. Just punch out a tag punch in a red and in vanilla, then use a scallop punch to punch out of the tag to make a bite. Glue the vanilla one behind and punch out to make it look like a creamsicle. Then trim off the extra vanilla so it lines up with the red. The sticks are made using the word window punch. Then I used a gel pen to add some detail to it. Last, I used a dimensional and added it to this card! The card is a simple card made from Real red cardstock and stamped with cherries from the Tart and Tangy set up the left side. Isn't it tasty?

stamps:Tart and Tangy, Sincere Salutations
ink:Real red, basic black
paper:real red, chocoloate chip, crushed curry, whisper white
other: dimensionals, tag punch, scallop circle punch, word window punch, gel pen, white grosgrain ribbon

Whaley Cute!!

Happy Tuesday! Today I have a whaley cute card to show you...I know... bad pun. I think if you're a stamper, you have to like bad puns! This card is made with all new InColors again. I used Burmuda Bay for the card base and stamped circles up the side with a circle from the circle Circus set,(I think this one looks like bubbles and goes great with the whale!). Then I used Crushed Curry for the accent color and white punched out with the scallop border punch. The whale from the Animal Stories is stamped using Burmuda Bay ink and the sentiment "thinking of you" is from the Trendy Trees stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I am really liking these new colors!!

stamps:Animal Stories, Trendy Trees
ink:Burmuda Bay, Soft Suede
paper:Burmuda Bay, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, whisper white
other: Polka-dotted grosgrain ribbon in Burmuda Bay, scallop border punch
