Farewell Nature Walk!

I'm always sad when I see a favorite set out of my collection on the retiring list - This year there are a couple that are definitely my favorites! I thought it might be fun to go back and see all the projects I made with them!  

Today I'm featuring - My favorite projects with Nature Walk! 

If you don't have this set yet, make sure to grab it up before the end of the month-- It's definitely a must -have set. I love how it has that  just out of the sketchbook feel!

Nature Walk for Spring

I LOVE this stamp set, Nature Walk, it's so easy to create pretty cards with it. I created this card for my stamp-a-stack last week. I saw a similar card somewhere that had the same colors and I thought it was the perfect color palette for spring. It uses crumb cake, wisteria wonder, lucky limeade and pool party! Perfect spring colors! This would also make a great wedding card or anniversary card.

Polished stone

Here is a the other card we made at my technique class last Thursday. This card uses a technique called "polished stone" to make that fun marbled looking background image behind the bird. The bird is from the stamp set Nature walk. To make the rest of the card I framed the image with some white card stock and added some black satin ribbon. I love how striking this color combo is! The I used the flower image from the same set to stamp a tone on tone image with tempting turquoise card stock and ink. I also used the scallop trim border punch to accent the center piece. Lastly, I added on some adhesive pearls to finish it off with an elegant touch. I love how this card turned out.

Here is a close up so you can see the technique. It's hard to tell in the image. It it also has a little sparkle to it.

Technique - Polished Stone

I am so in love with this card! I'm so happy with how it turned out. This is a technique we will be doing next week in my technique class called Polished Stone! If you'd like to sign up, let me know by the end of the day Friday (feb. 17). This technique took a little bit of experimenting and but I think I have it down now! I will be giving tips to those of you who come next week. It's hard to see well in the pic but it really sparkles too!

To make this card after I did the fun background piece, I stamped the bird from the Nature Walk stamp set on it with Staz-On ink. I framed it with some white to really make it pop off. Then I paired it with some tempting turquoise cardstock, which I stamped flowers on with the same color ink. I added the black satin ribbon and border punched cardstock which gives it a really striking look! The base of the card is old olive.

Nature Walk Tote

I just realized I never posted the cool one-sheet wonder that I created with the Nature Walk set.
Here are all the cards that were made by stamping one sheet with the random pattern and cutting it up into pieces. I find this technique works best if you choose three or four colors and make all the cards coordinate. I used Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso and Marina Mist!








There was even enough to make this tote to put them all in. Isn't it cute?

One more dryer sheet card

One last dryer sheet card to share. This time I didn't add glitter.. the glitter is optional and I wanted to make this one a little more gender neutral. I used the stamp set Nature Walk and stamped the floral image and the bees. Then I used the Woodgrain background stamp to give it more of a natural look! I love how this turned out!

Nature Walk Thank you

I just can't get enough of this Nature Walk Stamp set-- it's so easy to work with and makes beautiful cards quite easily. I love overlapping the images in this set. I stamped the floral image first and then stamped the bird over the top. The clear blocks make it easy to see where you are stamping. Then I stamped the "thanks" from the set Thank You Kindly in baja breeze over the top. To make the ruffly looking ribbon I frayed the edge a bit and then pulled a strand from the ribbon center... the ribbon will sort of ruffle up. Then I glued it down to the card. I felt like the card needed some more embellishment so I punched out a circle and stamped a bee on it and added a button for some extra dimension. I love how this turned out!

One-Sheet Wonder Tote and cards

Here is an image of what you will be making if you signed up for my one-sheet-wonder class! All of the stamped images on these cards are made from one sheet of paper, cut into pieces so not only do they all coordinate perfectly, but you also save on supplies! Plus, it's super quick to make! Simply change the stamp set and color palette for a whole new look!

More Cracked Glass

I was having so much fun with the cracked glass technique here are a few more cards I made using the Nature Walk Stamp set. On these cards I colored the image before I did the technique. This takes a little longer but it turns out so pretty with this set. I used watercolor pencils to color them. The first one I used the egg image as the main focus and stamped some of the other images with chocolate chip onto the crumb cake cardstock base.

For the second card below I used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder to add some texture to the card along with the Cracked glass technique.

This last one I used two butterflies punched from the Botanical Gazette paper and one that I stamped and colored the third one. Then I framed them all with scallop circle punches.

Cracked Glass Technique

Here is a card using a technique I taught at my recent technique class. It's called Cracked Glass. I will be teaching a technique class every month for the next few months - I hope you can attend! I have been having a ton of fun looking for new techniques to try. This one seemed so fitting for this stamp set. Here is a close-up so you can see how cool this technique is:

Get Well Card

Today I'm sharing another card made with the Nature Walk stamp set. I didn't want to share this one until after my stamp-a-stack since those of you who attend that got to make it that night! I love the color combo that I used on this card. It's Marina mist, so saffron and wild wasabi with a bit of soft suede. I stamped the bird on a piece of white cardstock using marina mist ink and then stamped the floral image right over the top of him using wild wasabi ink and then stamped the sentiment on the same square using early espresso. I love how this layering looks! The sentiment "Get well soon" is from the set sincere salutations.

Here's a close-up. You can also see how I stamped butterflies onto the wild wasabi to add some interest to that layer.

Sweet Nature Card

I am having so much fun with all the stuff in the Occasions Mini. I decided to play with the Nature Walk set a little more this week. I stamped the bird, birdcage and floral image from the set overlapping in different colors... I love how this looks, sort of has a collage feel. Then I stamped the bee on so saffron card stock and punched him out to add a little dimension. The paper used on the card is a piece of the Botanical Gazette designer paper that coordinates with this stamp set. It's hard to see in this little swatch but it has a beehive pattern on it. I finished off the card with a strip of so saffron punched out with the scallop ribbon border punch. The sentiment "get well soon" is from the set sincere salutations.
