Holiday Lodge Oval Card

Do you like this card with the oval middle? There's a trick to making this card where you create a "plate" with a piece of cardboard with the oval cut out of the middle and use that instead of one of the plastic plates when you emboss with the big shot. Isn't it cool? I love this idea-- it makes a perfect place to stamp an image.  For this card I used the house image from the Christmas Lodge stamp set with crumb cake ink and then stamped the sentiment over it with Cherry cobbler ink. I love this combo. What an easy and beautiful Holiday card!

stamps: Christmas Lodge, Holiday Greetings
ink: Soft suede, Cherry Cobbler
paper:  Whisper White, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler
Big Shot: petals a plenty Embossing folder,
other: Crumb Cake Seam binding ribbon, chipboard with oval cut out

Glitter Window

Ready for some more sparkle? Here is another way to add sparkle to your cards- packing tape! Yep. You heard me right… That's how I made the glittery windows on this card! Here's how it works. I took a piece of cardstock and punched the holes in it for the windows. Then Take some packing tape and put it over the holes. Dump glitter over it and shake off the extra. The glitter will stick to the packing tape and make a fun glittery window! You could do this with any shape that you can punch out! For this card I stamped the trees on a piece of white card stock and put them behind the window so it looks like you're looking into a snow and glitter covered winter scene! Isn't it pretty?

stamps: Greetings of the season, Christmas Lodge
ink: white
paper:  whisper white, crumb cake, soft suede
Big Shot: Woodgrain embossing folder
other: baja breeze seam binding ribbon, square punch, packing tape, dazzling diamonds glitter

Holiday Recap!

With the busy holiday goings-on last week I didn't get a chance to post the remainder of my holiday stuff so here is a re-cap of what I made! I quickly put together a bunch of tags using the two tags big shot die and scrap papers and punches! They turned out really cute!

On these I used the Northern Frost Sizzlit strip die to make the Snowflakes:

For my co-workers I made cute little mint treats to go with their cards:

Every year my husband and I make Jam for gifts too. I dressed up the jars using some patterned paper from the Frostwood Lodge paper pack. I love the plaids!

Time for gift bags!

Can you believe it's less than two weeks 'til Christmas? I've been busy shopping, creating, and making my holiday cards so I haven't had much time to post lately. Here is something I thought would be fun to share. I made this gift bag last week for a little handmade gift for some friends and I love how it turned out. I started with a plain craft gift bag (I buy these occasionally when I have a coupon or they are on sale at a craft store so I always have a few on hand). Then I stamped the tree on it from the Christmas Lodge stamp set and Seasons Greetings from the Many Merry Messages stamp set. I decorated the bottom with some paper from the Frostwood Lodge Designer paper (LOVE the plaids in this paper) and a piece of chocolate chip punched out with the Lace Ribbon Border punch!

Then I used the Two Tags big shot die to cut out a cute tag, embellished it with some more paper and the pinecones from the Pines and Pointsettias stamp set. Didn't it turn out pretty?

Bleached Christmas Tree!

Another card using bleach. This time I used bleach to ink up the big tree from the Christmas Lodge stamp set. I stamped it on always artichoke paper that had been cut out into the top Note shape using the Big Shot.

For the card base I used Crumb Cake Card stock and stamped the big woodgrain background stamp on it. Then I added a strip of early espresso paper and some of the Frostwood Lodge Designer paper -- I LOVE the plaids in this paper pack!

To add a finishing touch I stamped the Sentiment Merry Christmas from the season of Joy Stamp Set and added it on, framing it with a scalloped oval.

stamps: Woodgrain Background, Season of Joy, Christmas Lodge
ink: Bleach, Cranberry Crisp,
paper: Always Artichoke, crumb cake, whisper white, Frostwood Lodge Designer Paper, early espresso
other: oval punch, scallop oval punch

Sparkly Holiday Card

Here is another card using the Chirstmas Lodge Stamp set. This time I cut out the top note die shape using white cardstock in the big shot. Then I stamped the trees along the bottom with Pear Pizazz ink.. I stamped twice before re-inking so that every other tree looks lighter. Then I stamped the sentiment across the top with cherry cobbler ink and added some ribbon (seam binding) across the center. I added a little glue along the bottom, (tombow multi-purpose liquid glue) and added some of the Mica Flakes from the holiday mini. WARNING! these are MESSY!!! be careful because they stick to everything! But they're worth it... look how pretty it looks!

I attached it all to a crumb cake card base that I had also layered with some pear pizazz paper that was embossing with the petals-a-plenty embossing folder.

stamps: Christmas Lodge
ink: pear pizazz, cherry cobbler
paper: crumb cake, whisper white, pear pizazz
other: mica flakes, liquid glue, seam binding ribbon, top note die, big shot
