Sweet spring pastels!

I loved this color combo so much I used it on both cards! It's so springy!

Both of these cards use the stamp set Always from SU. I bought this set a bit ago but haven't had much of a chance to use it so Thought I'd try it out. The bird in this set works really awesome using the rock-and-roll technique. Haven't done this? It's easy. First ink the entire stamp in the lighter of your two colors (I used apricot appeal). Then take it to the darker stamp pad (cameo coral), and instead of pressing it straight down, kind or roll it around, only inking the outside edges!! Make sense? It creates such a pretty effect!

Everything used on these cards is SU except the ribbon. For colors I used appricot appeal, cameo coral, and glorious green. All the stamps are from the Always stamp set except the "thank you" sentiment which is from Spring Solitude.

You're the Best Bird

Since it's cold, snowy and blowy again today I thought I'd share a springy card.

I made this card using pieces from my scrap pile. I haven't made anything using brilliant blue card stock in forever but I just love how it turned out! I love the how the bold colors work with this stamp set. The stamp set I used is Spring Solitude, which is a new level 2 hostess set.

For the base of the card, I stamped the outlined flower image with brilliant blue ink. To create the main image, I used old olive and chocolate chip markers to ink and stamp the branches.

The "you're the best" sentiment is from the A little Birdie Told Me set.

stamps: Spring Solitude, A little Birdie Told Me
ink: Brilliant blue ink pad, old olive and chocolate chip markers
paper: whisper white, brilliant blue, chocolate chip, creamy caramel
other: white taffeta ribbon

Thank You Card

Here is a card using the hostess set Spring Solitude from Stampin' Up. The base is bordering blue card stock. For the strip through the center I used glossy white cardstock and stamped the flowers on it with Night of Navy ink. Then I used sponges to sponge river rock, and bordering blue over the top. The two flowers were stamped on white card stock and cut out and attached with dimensional dots. In the centers I attached pearls from the Stampin' Up Pretties Kit. These go on easily using glue dots. The ribbon is double-stitched grosgrain.

stamps: Spring Solitude
inks: Night of Navy, River Rock
papers: Bordering Blue, Night of Navy, Whisper White, glossy white
other: River Rock and Blue Bayou double-stitched grosgrain, flat-back pearls from Pretties Kit.
