Fall Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are always hard to make - partly because it's just sad to have to send one. For this card I wanted to create a pretty fall card to say I cared! I used the branches from stamp set Autumn Days to create a fall wreath using more mustard, soft suede and cajun craze inks. I added on a little bow using 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in pumpkin pie. I created a textured background for the card using the Square Lattice Embossing folder in the big shot. Then the rest of the card is made using punches. the Lace Ribbon Border punch for the bottom and then two sizes of oval and the scallop oval to create the sentiment.

stamps: Autumn Days, Teeny Tiny Wishes
ink: soft suede, more mustard, cajun craze
paper: whisper white, soft suede, more mustard, cajun craze, chocolate chip, pumpkin pie
other: 1/8" taffeta ribbon in pumpkin pie, Lace ribbon Border punch, oval punches, scallop oval punch, dimensionals, square lattice embossing folder

Sweet Fall Owl...

If you haven't purchased the owl punch yet, consider attending my class in October. It includes and owl punch in the class fee and you will get to make some punch art with it (not just owls!). Contact me for details!

This little owl makes every card so cute! This card is very simple to make but looks adorable! I paired the owl with some pretty branches from the set Autumn Days. I stamped the branches in Pumpkin Pie and Soft Suede (note: to create the lighter tone, just stamp once on a piece of scrap paper before I stamping on your real image). Then I left room for the sentiment "Just a little note" from the hostess set Apple Blossoms.

Hope you have a great weekend!

stamps: Autumn Days, Apple Blossoms
paper: pumpkin pie, more mustard, old olive, whisper white, soft suede
ink:pumpkin pie, soft suede, old olive
other: Owl punch, 1 1/4" striped Grosgrain ribbon, dimensional

Bird and Wreath

Here is a great card for Easter. I can't believe easter is only a few weeks away...where does the time go? I used the branch from the stamp set Autumn Days to create the wreath. You just stamp it four times in a sort of square shape with the first color and then stamp it again with the other colors to fill it in! Isn't it pretty? Then I punched out the bird using the XL Two-Step Bird punch in bashful blue. The whole thing is framed with pretty in pink. The sentiment is from the set Well-Scripted.

stamps: Well-scripted, Autumn Days
ink: Basic Black, pretty in pink, bashful blue, lavendar lace
paper: whisper white, pretty in pink, sage shadow, bashful blue
other: XL two-step bird punch, scallop trim border punch

Another Autumn Card

This card is similar to the last one I shared.... I love the branches in the new Autumn Days set (available July 1st) and thought they would make a pretty card. I stamped them using two of the new colors, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. It looks a little more red in the photo, it's actually a little more orangish looking in person. The soft suede paper was embossed using my big shot to add some fun texture. Then I used the sentiment across the bottom from the Heardfrom the heart stamp set. This makes a simple but beautiful card!

stamps:Autumn Days, Heard from the heart
ink:soft suede, dusty durango
paper:dusty durango, soft suede, whisper white
other: big shot texturz

Another Sneak Peek....

Here is another card I made for fathers day using one of the sneak peek sets that I pre-ordered. This set is called Autumn Days and will be in the new catalog and available July 1st. I loved this set right away because it has a masculine feel to me...all the men in my family are hunters or at least outdoorsy...and I also liked that it comes with several different branches that you could use on their own without the pheasant. For this card I used the new InColors. The card stock base is Soft Suede and the orange piece is the new dusty durango. I sent that piece through the big shot with the texture plate to make it look wood-grain. Here's a close-up where you can see it better:

I love how texture really adds to a card. It looks so much cooler in person! The center image is a piece of whisper white card stock that I die cut using the top note die in my big shot. Then I got the colors on the pheasant by coloring on the stamp with markers and then stamping it. To make the wheat look lighter I inked the stamp then stamped off on a piece of scrap paper before stamping on the image.

The for you stamp is from the Great Friend stamp set that was in the occasions mini-- this set did make it into the new catalog, I'm glad because I didn't get to use it that much yet!! And the Father word is from a retired set, everyday flexible phrases.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek!!

stamps:Autumn Days, Great friend, Everyday flexible Phrases
ink: soft suede, dusty durango, old olive markers
paper: whisper white, soft suede, dusty durango
other: brads, big shot, top note die
