Happy Thoughts!

How is it Wednesday already? I can't believe how fast the days fly by, with so little time to stamp!

Here is a card I recently made with the stamp set Hey Chicky from C.C. Designs. This set is super cute. I just love how cute and simple her designs are.

All card stock is from SU. I used Gable Green for the card base. Then put a piece of tempting turquoise through my cuttlebug to create the embossed dots on the left. I stamped the chicky on white and colored him with copic markers. I then framed that image with apricot appeal card stock and taken with teal card stock. For the sentiment I used the stamp from Think Happy Thoughts (AGAIN, I know) and put a cute brad in the center from Making Memories. This is an appropriate card for today since it's rainy and I'm tired and could use some happy, sunny thoughts!

stamps:Hey chicky from C.C. Designs, Think Happy Thoughts from SU.
ink: black, copic markers
paper: Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal, white.
other: SU scallop and circle punches, Ribbon from target dollar spot, brad from Making memories.

Sleepy bear card

The house mouse stamp company now has these super cute bears stamps called Gruffies. I wanted to order some online but then found a couple at my local Hobby Lobby store and they were on sale! Who could resist, right?

I made this card using the Bedtime Story stamp. I made the embossed background using a circle template on my cuttlebug. Then I colored him with copics and framed him with Taken with Teal and pumpkin pie card stock. For the sentiment I used happy thoughts stamp from the
Think Happy Thoughts stamp set from SU. I punched it out with the 1 3/8" circle punch and framed it with a scallop circle punched out of tempting turquoise. For the center of the shape I used a felt flower from SU and a cute little flower brad from Making memories.

stamps: Gruffies bear stamp from House Mouse, Think Happy Thoughts from SU
ink: Black, tempting turqouise
paper: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise, taken with teal, whisper white.
other: Scallop and circle punches, felt flowers, flower brad, ribbon, cuttlebug

Penguins!

Ok... I know I've been really into the bird thing lately, but penguins don't count, do they? I suppose they do but at least they're a different type of bird!!

I just got these two adorable little penguins in my order from All that Scraps. They're cute little clear stamps by Imaginesce Snag Em' Stamps. The first card uses the penguin dude stamp. I stamped him on white and colored him with my new copic markers (I had to get a few to try, just couldn't resist). The cardstock used on the card is all stampin' Up. I used real red for the base color and barely banana, tempting turquoise, and summer sun for the layers. I put the barely banana piece through my cuttlebug to create the fun texture. And of course I had to use Think Happy Thoughts stamp set from SU for the "happy birthday" sentiment. I really love how the striped grosgrain ribbon really ties all the colors together.

The second card uses the penguin girl stamp. She is so cute with her little bikini!

For this card I used a pumpkin pie card base to match the SU felt flowers. I also layered that with Old Olive, and tempting turquoise stamped with the Scatter Sunshine wheel (I found this scrap in my drawer already stamped, don't you love it when that happens?) I also used red to frame her image and tie all the colors together. I really like how this color combo looks. The flowers are from SU and the pretty blue brads are from making memories. Then I finished it off with some of that gorgeous striped grosgrain from SU. She's so cute and summery. Oh, and the "you're the best" sentiment is stamped from the A little birdie set from SU.

Always a birthday

I can never have too many birthday cards around. It seems like whenever I need to send one, I don't have one that fits the person so I usually end up making one to fit that specific person. Now if I could just get them in the mail on time!!

This card I made for my Grandma. She really loves green so I thought she'd really like the color combo. All materials are from SU except the ribbon which is a Target dollar spot find.

I used the stamp set Always to stamp the branches on the background and the bird. I used the rock and roll technique I mentioned yesterday on this card too. I started by certainly celery and rocked it on tempting turquoise to create the effect. I just love how this looks! Then I used the happy birthday sentiment from the Think Happy Thoughts set. I just got this set because I thought it would go great with the circle and scallop punches (which it does) and now I can't stop using it. I think I used it on all the cards I made last night!! (which I will be posting as soon as I get time to photograph them!)

stamps: Always, Think Happy Thoughts
ink: Tempting turquoise, certainly celery
paper: tempting turquoise, taken with teal, certainly celery, whisper white, so saffron
other: ribbon from target dollar spot, scallop and circle punches
