Baby Cards!

When I discovered the gingham technique I thought it would also work great for baby cards - and I never seem to have baby cards on hand when I need them so Inked up a bunch of gingham backgrounds in baby colors (see post here for details on the gingham background) and made some quick baby cards to have for my stash!

These cards are also simple and use the stamp set Fox and Friends (retired) and a variety of circle punches and embellishments.  I made a couple gender -neutral green and yellow cards using the giraffe and lion.

Here's a pink and yellow version for a baby girl using the monkey and some little flowers!

And the Boy version, using a turtle and one of the itty bitty buttons.

stamps: Fox and Friends (retired), fabulous phrases,  teeny tiny wishes
ink: Various colors
paper: Various colors
Big shot:,Stripes embossing folder

Zoo Birthday!

Here is a cute card I made for a little boys first birthday! I love the set Fox and Friends for making cards for kids! Just use some bright colors and it's perfect! For colors I used Wild Wasabi (turtle), Tangerine Tango (fox), Chocolate chip (0wl) and Daffodil Delight (lion). Then I added on some of the new polka-dot scallop ribbon. Isn't it cute? The Little tag is from the stamp set Tiny Tags and I punched it out with the jewelry tag punch and added it on with some bakers twine in white.

The polka dots are the dots from the Summer Splash set in the summer mini. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from a retired set. Here is a close up:

stamps:fox and friends, tiny tags, summer splash,
ink:tangerine tango, wild wasabi, daffodil delight, chocolate chip, tempting turqouise
paper:tangerine tango, wild wasabi, daffodil delight, chocolate chip, tempting turqouise, whisper white, crumb cake
other: polka dot Scallop ribbon, bakers twine, jewelry tag punch, square punch, postage stamp punch, lattice embossing folder.

Whale-y cute Baby Card!

This is a card we made at my last technique class. This technique is called "inlaid embossing" and involves embossing several layers of card stock at once using the big shot! I cut out circles using the Circle #2 die and embossed them over the pacific point card stock. Then I stamped the whale from the Fox and Friends stamp set and the "baby" from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

stamps: Fox and Friends, Tiny Tags
ink: Tempting Turquoise, pumpkin pie, pacific point
paper: Tempting Turquoise, pumpkin pie, pacific point, whisper white
other: embossing folder, big shot, pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon

Onsie Card

I made this super cute onsie card for my friends baby shower! She knows she's having a boy so I made it with Ballet Blue Card stock (one of the colors that's retiring at the end of the month). I cut it the long way to start with a card that's 4 1/4 by 11, then fold it in half. I embossed the front half of the card using the dots embossing folder in my Big Shot. Then I punched out the neck and legs with a 1 3/8" circle punch. I then punched out some scallop circle edges in white to make the leg and neck edges. Note: the easiest way to do this is to punch out the circle first, then you can center it inside the scallop circle punch and punch that out next. I cut in on the sides about 2 inches from the top and then cut it to the leg holes. I made myself a template so it will be easy to trace and make more later!

I used some striped grosgrain ribbon around the middle (also retiring) and then stamped a cute little whale from the Fox & Friends stamp set. This set was in the Occassions Mini. I punched the whale out with the 1 3/8 circle and then framed him with a scallop circle cut from Barely Banana cardstock (also retiring). The "new baby" words are from a really old stamp set I found in my retired stash!

Baby Shower card

I went to a baby shower last weekend where the parents were decorating the baby's room with Jungle animals....so of course I had to pull out my animal stories stamp set and make a card for her! I stamped the monkey, lion and whale in bright colors and then punched them out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. For the lion, I stamped him again and trimmed out his tiny little head and popped it off with a dimensional to give it more depth.

I punched coordinating scallops to frame the animals in pumpkin pie, old olive and tempting turquoise card stock. To add more detail I used the tiny circle hand punch to make the little hole in each scallop. I wanted the cared to have a jungle feel so I used some paper from the Island Oasis paper pack (the stripes and the palm leaves). Then I used the so saffron paper and new texture folder from the summer mini (square lattice) in the Big Shot to create the texture piece going through the center. Finish it off with a scallop border punch to make it super cute!

The sentiment "for a little someone" is from a retired set I found in my stamp cupboard!

stamps: animal stories
ink:pumpkin pie, so saffron, tempting turquoise, soft suede
paper: island oasis designer paper, so saffron, whisper white, tempting turquoise, old olive, pumpkin pie

Monkey Spinner Card...

This little monkey from the Fox & Friends Stamp set is perfect to use for a spinner card! This cute little guy slides back and forth across the card front!

I also used the branch from the stamp set Great Friend and the birthday words from the set A Little Birthday Cheer. This is one of the cards we will be making in my upcoming Cards that Move Class. I love how easy and fun it is to make this type of card. I hope if you are local that you can join me next Thursday to make him and some other great cards. Contact me to sign up!

Here's a close-up of the monkey:

Foxy Valentine!

This little fox is so adorable.... he's my favorite stamp from the Fox & Friends stamp set. I thought he would be perfect for making a valentine! You could send it to someone "foxy"....he he he.

I made this card with a going gray base... I don't use gray that often but I love how it turned out here-- it makes a great neutral. Then I used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to make the dotted soft suede paper that is in the background. A piece of the sparkly pink paper from the sending love designer paper makes a great color accent. Then I stamped the fox with Soft Suede ink on Very vanilla paper and added the sentiment "Love you much" from the Well-scripted stamp set. And of course, added a little heart in pretty in pink (punched with the small heart punch) to add a finishing touch.

stamps: Fox & Friends, Well-Scripted
paper:going gray, soft suede, very vanilla, Sending Love
ink:soft suede
other: very vanilla satin ribbon, small heart punch, perfect polka dots embossing folder, big shot

Best Wishes

Happy Friday Everyone! I'm so glad it's Friday...this has been a long week. I'm excited I have a small class tonight to do some mini albums with some of my favorite girls and then a workshop tomorrow with some of my other favorite girls! This will be a weekend with fun stamp time!

Today I'm sharing with you a cute little card that would be perfect to send to anyone. I made the colors a little more masculine but I think it's pretty neutral. I used the stamp set Fox and Friends to stamp the fun little fox, owl and giraffe. When I saw this set and the adorable fox I knew I had to have it! Each little guy is puched out using the curly label punch. I also stamped the cute little frame and "best wishes" from the Vintage Labels Sale-a-bration set. The polka dotted background is embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder in the Big Shot.

stamps: Fox & Friends, Vintage Labels
ink: Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede
paper: crushed curry, soft suede, whisper white
other: curly label punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Polka dot dusty durango ribbon.
