Telescoping Card

I just love how cute the telescoping card is… I've been seeing these around on blogs and such for a while but haven't had a chance to try one myself so when I decided to do a "cards that move" class I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out. It's really pretty easy to make.. the hardest part is making sure when you assemble your layers you have them in the right direction so when you turn it open, everything is facing upright! Here is what it looks like closed:

To stamp on this card I used the stamp set Mixed Bunch… I finally caved and bought this set out of the Occasions Mini. I told Myself I didn't need another flower set but after seeing so many cute cards made with it I finally decided I did! then for the top layer I used the circle birthday image from the hostess birthday set. I'm going to miss using this hostess set next year… it's perfect for birthday sentiments!

stamps: Mixed Bunch, Happiest Birthday Wishes
ink: Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade,
paper: Melon Mambo, whisper white
other: Big Shot, lucky limeade ruffled ribbon, brads, 3 1/2" circle big shot die, Scallop circle big shot die, XL scallop punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch.

Flip-flop card with Framelits.

This card technique is something that I learned when I went to the Stampin' Up! Regional in Milwaukee. Seminars like this are always good to learn a few new tips and tricks. This one was demonstrated by Cristy Butzen - you can view the tutorial on her blog here. By using your big shot and the framelits dies in a creative way you can make a fun card that flips open!

To stamp this card I used the stamp set Mouthwatering. I really love this set-- It's so fun and summery! I don't know if this set will make it into the next big idea book and catalog but I hope so…

stamps: Mouthwatering, Fruit & Flowers, You're Cherished
ink: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Early espresso
paper: Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Early espresso, whisper white
other: Simply scored tool, Framelits Labels Dies, Big Shot, adhesive pearls

Pop-up Tea Card

Here is another moving card from my "Cards that Move Class". For this card I featured the stamp set Tea Shoppe! I love the teacups and sentiments in this set. It's only available until the end of the month so make sure you let me know if you need to order it for yourself.

For this card the hardest party is figuring out where to cut and score but once you have that down it's pretty easy and makes a fun card to give to someone. They pull the tab and it pops the front up like this:

stamps: Tea Shoppe
ink: pacific point, early espresso, bashful blue
paper: pacific point, early espresso, bashful blue, whisper white
other: Simply scored tool, Crumb cake seam binding ribbon, scallop oval punch, oval punch, early espresso grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip, dimensionals

Furry Folk Moving Card!

Last week I had a "Cards that Move" class and one of the cards we made featured the set Furry Folk, which is now on the retiring list...sad! I just love the cute little animals in this set... To make this card, we made a window on the front panel of the card by punching out a hole and then attached a 3 1/2" circle behind it. The trick is to stamp the images through the window after it is already attached! Then you can see exactly where they line up. I was able to fit 4 different critters on my wheel...

Isn't it adorable? Who wouldn't love to get this card in the mail? If you love this set and don't have it yet, make sure to order before May 31. You can contact me or order anytime on my website!

stamps: furry folk, friendly phrases
ink: early espresso
paper: pear pizzaz, pool party, crumb cake, whisper white
other: Big shot, circle die, oval punch, scallop trim punch, 1/8" satin ribbon, 1 3/8" circle punch, dimensionals
