Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Fathers Day! I hope everyone has a chance to spend time with their fathers today. I'm a little too far away from mine to get to visit today but I did send him this fun card! I used the set the Open Sea to stamp this card. I stamped the textured text image with soft suede on whisper white and sponged the edges to make it look aged. Then I stamped the boat onto another piece using soft suede again and sponging again. It's cool how simply you can make something look all aged and textured just by sponging on some ink! The sentiment "happy fathers day" is from a retired hostess set I have.

Seaside Birthday.

It's hard to make masculine cards but the set On the Sea in the summer mini makes it much easier! I simply stamped the ship with Night of Navy Ink the the "birthday wishes" in real red. I added some interest to the piece of Navy by stamping the cool background that is in the same set all over it (it's hard to see in the photo but just gives it a little more dimension). Then I added the little compass image punched out with the new postage stamp punch and some red and white bakers twine! Quick and easy and great for guys!

stamps: on the sea, sincere salutations.
ink:real red, night of navy
paper:real red, night of navy, whisper white, crumb cake

On the Sea Birthday!

Here is a Birthday Card Using the new set On the Sea! I loved this set right away for two reasons - one, it will make great masculine cards and I need more of those and two, it has a great background texture stamp in it.

to make this card I started with Daffodil delight cardstock for the base. I stamped the globe image randomly on in it in Daffodil delight ink. The blue layer is Marina Mist Cardstock which I stamped over with the cool background texture stamp in this set. I used the scallop trim border punch to make the tiny scalloped bottom. Then I stamped the ship with Marina mist ink on white cardstock and added the Happy Birthday sentiment (from a hostess set). To add some dimension I stamped the directional (what's that called again?) and punched it out with the new postage stamp punch. I also added some of the new bakers twine.

Here's a close-up so you can see the twine - I love this stuff!!
